Development for Elderly and Persons with Disabilities

IHCDA is proud to manage a number of programs that offer housing possibilities, promote self-sufficiency, and strengthen Indiana communities. The majority of these programs impact on enhancing the standard of living for susceptible populations within our state, such as the elderly and people with disabilities. For the intended purpose of this summary, individuals with disabilities includes people with real or intellectual disabilities, along with individuals with psychological infection and addiction. Below is a listing of a several key programs and initiatives that serve these target populations.

Rental Housing Tax Credits

The Rental Housing Tax Credit (RHTC) program allocates over $15.5M of federal taxation credits annually to for-profit and non-profit developers when it comes to construction or rehabilitation of affordable leasing housing. All devices developed through the RHTC system needs to be rented to households at or below 60% of area income that is median. IHCDA helps to ensure that this system is employed to assist populations that are vulnerable set-asides into the registered Action Arrange (QAP).
